MTN Foundation Scholarship 2024-
This MTN Online scholarship category debuted in 2020 and is the most recent addition to the MTN Scholarships. The top 10 UTME candidates with the highest scores, as announced by JAMB, are automatically qualified for the top 10 UTME scholarship each year.
If they maintain the required grades, the winning candidates receive scholarships worth 200,000 naira from their 100-level to graduation.
The MTN Top 10 UTME award is given regardless of the successful students’ preferred study field or public or private university in the country.
Institution of Study
- MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) and MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is open to Nigerian students in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institution (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
Course of Study
- MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is open to 300 level students studying Science & Technology related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
- MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is open to 200 & 300 level Blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
Level of Study
MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
- The application is open to students who have completed their second semester 200 level examinations going to 300 level and students currently in their 300 level as we understand that the academic calendar in not aligned across all public tertiary institutions.
The MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
The application is open to 200 & 300 level blind students in any Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). However, for blind students studying Law, which is a 5 years course, only 300 level students can apply for the MTN Scholarship.
Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
- STEM Students in Public Universities, and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper credit)
- STEM Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
- Direct Entry level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into 300 level/3rd year in a Public University.
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
- Blind Students in the Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
- Blind Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
All interested applicants’ information will be verified, and only those who qualify for an inspection examination will be contacted. They must bring two recent passport photos, the original, and a photocopy of each of the following documents:
- ID card for students
- International passport, driver’s license, or national identification card
- Admission letter for the Higher National Diploma (HND) programs from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the institution of higher education (only for Polytechnic students)
How to Apply for the MTN Scholarship Online for 2023–2024
All candidates must have complete two application procedures in order to be considered for an MTN Scholarship for 2023–2024.
- All applicants ought to have gotten their Username and Password in the initial phase.
- Choose the option for Create Account.
- Enter your name, email address, and password, then click the Submit button.
- Use your email address and the password you created earlier to get into the website.
- After completing the first step
- Make sure you accurately enter every piece of information on the second step.
- Choose the “Login” option after entering your email address and password.
- Copy the 12-digit PIN along with your page after logging in, then select the “Apply for Scholarship” option.
For the application to start: Choose the “Apply” and enter the 12-digit PIN.
- Click on the “Submit” option after completing the Application Form with all necessary information.

MTN foundation scholarship 2023 deadline
On August 15, 2022, the MTN 2022 Scholarship application period closed. The 2024 application will start July 2023.
