This prestigious school offers scholarships for our postgraduate taught and postgraduate research courses starting in the 2024–25 academic year. All self-funded, international (non-EU) fee-paying offer holders with strong academic qualifications are encouraged to apply.
What does the scholarship cover?
Undergraduate 2023/24 Entry
Applications for the undergraduate scholarships for 2023–24 entry are now closed. Scholarships available for the 2024–25 academic year will be announced in early 2024.
Postgraduate 2023/24 Entry
Applicants for postgraduate taught degrees starting in January 2024 will receive a scholarship award equivalent to a 15% reduction of your tuition fee, with a typical scholarship award of £3,670 deducted from your tuition fees.
Applications for our Dean’s International Excellence Awards for postgraduate taught applicants are also now open, with scholarships worth £8,000 and £5,000 available. The closing date for applications to be considered for these higher awards is November 30, 2023. Applicants only need to submit one application form to be considered for both the standard Faculty of Engineering International scholarships and the Dean’s International Excellence Awards.
If you’re applying for a postgraduate research degree program, you’ll receive a scholarship award equivalent to a 15% reduction in your tuition fees for each year of study. Postgraduate research degree applicants can apply for these scholarships year-round within the 2023–24 academic year.
Scholarship Eligibility
- Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will likely be awarded in physics and science subject areas for full-time postgraduate research offered by the university.
- Admissible Standards: To be considered for a Faculty of Science International Scholarship, candidates should:
- Be a brand new, international fee-paying student holding an offer of admission to a full-time place in MRes Physics within the Faculty of Science commencing January 2023.
- Be self-funded. Students who receive fully-funded programs, for example, from a government office or embassy, won’t be eligible.
Others
- Supporting Documents: The scholars are required to present the following paperwork to the college:
- First-class or upper second-class honors degree, or overseas equivalent, in physics or a related subject, from a recognized academic establishment.
- CV and proof of English language abilities.
- Admission Requirements: The applicants should meet the university’s program and admission entry requirements. Candidates will need a first or 2:1 UK Honours diploma, or overseas equivalent, in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic establishment.
- Language Requirement: College students should be proficient in English or have a minimal score of 6.5 (with no component below 6.0).
If English is not your first language, you’ll also want a recent UKVI-recognised Secure English Language Test (or a SELT).
